According to Columbus’ Business First, new statistics from the Columbus Board of Realtors show home and condominium sales activity in Central Ohio up 11% over last June.
This spike comes in spite of the April 30th expiration of the federal government’s $8,000 tax-credit to first-time home buyers. The Board reported 2,315 sales of existing homes and condominiums in June, up 10.7 percent from 2,092 one year ago. Another positive sign for the central Ohio and Columbus real estate market, the average home sales price gained 3 percent, up to $174,522 from $169,270. According to the Board’s data, the first half of 2010 has shown a 20 percent growth over the same time last year in the total number of sold listings and a nearly 26 percent increase in total dollar volume.
