2010 BIA Developer of the Year

The Building Industry Association (BIA) of Central Ohio has named Schottenstein Real Estate Group 2010 Developer of the Year at their annual Building Industry Awards reception held Oct. 26, 2010. This is the second BIA Developer of the Year Award for Schottenstein Real Estate Group. SREG was also awarded the esteemed designation by the BIA in 2006.
“Developer of the Year is a great honor,” said BIA Executive Director Jim Hilz. “And clearly Schottenstein Real Estate Group exemplifies leadership in our industry as a two-time Developer of the Year winner.”
Founded by Gary Schottenstein as MI Real Estate more than 35 years ago, Schottenstein Real Estate Group has built more than 20,000 rental and apartment units, more than 5000 for-sale units, and developed, marketed or managed more than twenty million square feet of commercial, retail, or office projects in Ohio, Indiana, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland.
In 2010, under the leadership of President Brett Kaufman, Schottenstein Real Estate Group became the top selling condominium developer in central Ohio.

“Schottenstein Real Estate Group LLC climbed to the top of the Columbus-area condominium construction market for the first half of the year.
According to a Binns Real Estate Services report, Schottenstein Real Estate sold 71 condos in Central Ohio through June 30, topping rivals Lifestyle Communities Ltd., Village Communities LLC and Epcon Communities Inc. Lifestyle sold 55 condos in the period, Epcon sold 40 and Village Communities sold 38, the report said.”
